CHELSEA picked up all three points in the Champions League with a fine win at Lille.

CHELSEA striker Tammy Abraham is set to be given his first competitive call-up after scoring seven Premier League goals this season.
And he was on target for his club against Lille in the Champions League last night.
Abraham, 22 yesterday, has already won two senior caps but they were in friendlies against Brazil and Germany in 2017.
But if he plays in either Prague or Sofia — something which is likely — that would end any chance of him starring for Nigeria, a country he also qualifies for.
Southgate has a worry over Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, who is nursing a groin problem. But it is unlikely Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, who has retired from international football, will be called up.
Southgate will also check on Foxes playmaker James Maddison, who missed Sunday’s win against Newcastle with an ankle injury but is expected to be fit.
Maddison was angry at not featuring in the previous two games and will be hoping for a run-out.

TAMMY ABRAHAM sent a last-ditch message to England boss Gareth Southgate with a classy goal.
Southgate names his squad at 2pm on Thursday for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
That gives him just a few hours to watch a video of Abraham’s performance last night in France and in particular the manner.
in which he got back into the groove of scoring.
Abraham, who celebrated his 22nd birthday with the opener, is being courted by Nigeria through his dad but fancies England should he get the call from Southgate.




No English striker is in better form than Chelsea’s rapidly emerging youngster, who now boasts eight goals less than two months into his debut season as a first-team regular.
And Southgate will probably want to watch Abraham’s first Champions League goal a couple of times just to dwell on the rookie’s instinctive timing and balance which combined for a moment of class.

TAMMY ABRAHAM has been told he will be called up to the England squad – according to Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr.
As reported by the Mirror, the Chelsea striker is available to play for England and Nigeria, yet we confirm his allegiance should he feature in the next round of internationals.
England face Czech Republic and Bulgaria later this month in their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.
Abraham is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles, but if Gareth Southgate gives him minutes, it will class as him playing in a competitive fixture and therefore unable to change.
His Blues' teammate Fikayo Tomori can also star for England and Nigeria – as well as Canada – but Rohr believes neither has any interest of turning out for the African side.
He said: “They are not interested in discussing their international options at the moment and we need to respect that.
“It is also significant to note that Abraham has been assured that he will be in the England squad.
“Tomori is a very good friend of our player Ola Aina and he said he does not want to discuss this for now.

CHELSEA skipper Cesar Azpilicueta was asked about Reece James' chances of nabbing his right-back spot this season.
He said: “I am here to support him the same way I support all the young lads.
“Hopefully he can be a very important player. We have great quality and Reece is one of them.
“I have known them for a long time so I know their quality, and I was very confident they had the level to perform.
“What they have been doing is very good for them and the club.”






FRANK LAMPARD takes his Chelsea side to face Lille on Wednesday as he moves into fifth in the all-time list of English Champions League managers.
Only six Englishman have taken charge in the Champions League since it was revamped, with Sir Bobby Robson holding the record for most games, at 29.
Taking charge of PSV Eindhoven, Porto and Newcastle in the competition, legendary coach Sir Bobby won ten matches to earn a win ratio of 34.5 per cent.
With the Magpies, he reached the second round in 2002/03 although he couldn't beat the group stage with either of the other two sides he managed.
Harry Redknapp is Robson's only fellow manager to reach double figures in the Champions League, winning four of his ten games when in charge of Tottenham.




THIBAUT COURTOIS was only hauled off at half-time during Real Madrid's 2-2 Champions League draw with Club Brugge on Tuesday because he was ill – but Chelsea fans are still showing him no sympathy.
Second-half goals from Sergio Ramos and Casemiro saved Los Blancos' blushes after Emmanuel Bonaventure's first-half brace had threatened to condemn Real to their second Champions League defeat in two games.
The Belgian stopper let in two goals before half-time and was replaced by Alphonse Areola during the break but Belgian journalist Vincenzo Ciuro claims stomach problems were the reason.
Courtois' team reportedly said the 27-year-old suffered from “fever and dizziness during the first-half” and that he was “sick (stomach problems) before the game”.
Despite the reported health issues, Chelsea fans online still took the opportunity to tear into their former keeper.
Many are still angry about the way Courtois left Stamford Bridge and have dubbed him “The Snakey One”.
In a reference to Courtois' claims that he left Chelsea to be nearer his kids in Spain, DeanCareFreeCFC posted: “Unbelievable stats snake lad. How are the kids by the way? Got to see them early tonight.”


MAURIZIO SARRI is keen on a reunion with midfield enforcer N'Golo Kante.
The Italian is now at Juventus after Chelsea dispensed with his services as manager this summer.
And according to MailOnline, Sarri believes he could bring Kante to the Allianz Stadium for a bargain £70million.
Sarri has “made no secret of his desire to bring Kante to Turin”, and has already “made his feelings clear to the club's vice-chairman Pavel Nedved”.
Chelsea are currently appealing a transfer ban and would be loathe to lose one of their best players.
If Kante made the shock switch to Juve, it would see him link up with former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey in the middle of the park.


JOE COLE went on Peter Crouch's Back of the Net TV show and had a surprising revelation.
The 37-year-old fromer Chelsea star explained: “I don’t think it’s weird at all, but I’ve only had an email address for a couple of years, I was completely off the grid.
“I only wanted it because someone needed to get in touch with me… I rung my agent and said ‘listen, how do you do this email game?’
“He ran me through it on the computer and it took about two hours!”


N'GOLO KANTE handed Frank Lampard a huge boost ahead of their Champions League game at Lille.
The midfielder was one of a trio of Frenchman to return to training Tuesday ahead of tonight's trip to their homeland.
The Blues welcomed back Kante, Olivier Giroud and Kurt Zouma from injury as they headed out for training on a soaking wet morning at Cobham on Tuesday.
The French trio have all missed recent games but Frank Lampard will be thrilled they are back in contention as he looks to right the wrongs of their 1-0 home defeat to Valencia in this season's Champions League opener.
Giroud and Zouma both missed Chelsea's 2-0 Premier League win over Brighton last time out through illness.






CHELSEA are reportedly keeping tabs on Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile.
According to Le 10 Sport, the 18-year-old is a summer target for the Blues when they are free to buy players again.
They claim that Chelsea have been tracking the youngster since he was 15.
Badiashile has featured in six Ligue 1 games this season.




FRANK LAMPARD will use ‘naive’ Ross Barkley’s scrape with the law as a life lesson for his blossoming young stars.
Midfielder Barkley has travelled with Chelsea for tonight’s Champions League Group H match despite an incident involving a bag of chips, a cabbie and the cops in his home city of Liverpool on Sunday.
Lampard said: “Ross hasn’t broken a club code being out 48 hours before a game. The lads were given a day off on Sunday.
“He hasn’t committed a crime other than eating chips in the back of a cab, which is probably a bit out of order for the cabbie.
“But on a serious note what he has done from my point of view is be naive to be out on that evening in the build-up to a Champions League game. He has admitted that as well. On a professional level, those are little things that shouldn’t happen.
“He is travelling. I don’t have to give permission on a day off to be in Liverpool. That’s not a problem.  Liverpool is the least of my worries.
“It is only a few hours to get up there and back. Especially when your family is up there. It is important for people to see them. I like Ross. I have had absolutely no problem with him since he has been here.
“He works hard and wants to do well for this club. This morning he admitted to making a mistake. I will take that one at face value and we move on.”
